The Vision Behind Prestige
Pierre-Yves Meinen
The grandson of a winegrower, Pierre-Yves developed a genuine passion for sports cars from an early age.
Growing up in the Geneva countryside, he learned to drive behind the wheel of old vehicles rescued from scrapyards, which he restored, modified, and transformed into off-road vehicles. This early experience shaped his technical expertise, creativity, and unique approach to the world of automobiles.
This passion, combined with his expertise and entrepreneurial spirit, led him to found Prestige Rent a Car in 1982, laying the foundations of a company that continues today to embody excellence, refinement, and personalised service in the world of prestige vehicle rental.

Our Heritage
Founded
In December 1982, Prestige Rent a Car was founded in Geneva with a single vehicle: a premium four-door automatic Range Rover. The following year, the fleet expanded to include a BMW, a Cadillac, a Volkswagen, and a Mercedes, marking the beginning of a company that would become a benchmark for prestige vehicle rental in Switzerland.
CAAR Headquarters
Prestige Rent a Car becomes the headquarters of the CAAR (Cannonballers Association of Automobile Raiders), an international association bringing together enthusiasts of exceptional automobiles and long-distance motoring.
Zurich Branch Opens
Prestige Rent a Car expands with the opening of a new branch in Zurich, marking an important milestone in the company's growth. At the same time, the fleet is significantly enhanced with the addition of new models from Porsche, Maserati, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, and Audi.
Sponsorship & Boat Charter
Prestige Rent a Car becomes the sponsor of Swiss racing driver Philippe Favre during the British Formula 3 Championship. In the same year, the company expands its services by introducing skippered boat charters, offering clients a new dimension of the Prestige experience
Geneva Airport
Prestige Rent a Car opens an office within the ICC, close to Geneva Airport. The company expands its chauffeur-driven services, limousine and minibus fleet, while introducing the transport of collector cars throughout Europe and a dedicated boat transport service. The fleet is further enhanced with the acquisition of Switzerland's first six-door Mercedes Schulz.
Central Geneva
Opening of the central Geneva office, and a new 1,800 m² facility, near the train station. New models are added: Porsche, Maserati, Jaguar, Rolls, Ferrari and Audi.
Restructuring
In December 2012, Prestige Rent a Car was restructured into two separate companies: Prestige SA, dedicated to prestige vehicle rental, and Chabé – Prestige SA, specialising in chauffeur-driven services.
The First Ferraris
Prestige Rent a Car reaches another milestone by offering its first Ferrari for rental. The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti One-to-One, powered by a V12 engine, marks the beginning of a new era, soon followed by the Ferrari 458 Spider with its 570 hp V8 engine.
Exclusivity
Prestige Rent a Car enhances its fleet with several models offered exclusively in Switzerland, including the Ferrari 488 Spider and the Bentley Bentayga in its prestigious Mulliner specification. The company also embraces new technologies with the introduction of hybrid vehicles, including the Mercedes-Benz GLC 350 and an Audi model, reflecting the evolving expectations of its clientele.
